You're invited to meet the Three Kings scientists tomorrow

Our expedition team is back from the Three Kings Islands and ready to answer your questions about what they found and to show you some of the specimens they collected to help build their understanding of the marine environment. The blog has been a fantastic chance to follow their discoveries but now you can meet them face to face and talk to them about their preliminary findings about marine life in the Three Kings. In the few days since the team got back on dry land they've already identified that one of the fish they found is likely to be a new species. So who knows what tomorrow will bring. You can meet four of the team - including University of Queensland PhD student Libby Liggins and one of the expedition's photographers Richard Robinson - tomorrow at 11am at the Auckland Museum. One Three Kings marine expedition team – shaken and stirred. We’re hiding from a nasty wee storm right now but not before we took some video footage to give you a taster of the weather.

We’re running for cover right now.

Richie braved 50 knot winds and big swells this morning to lash the Gopro video camera onto the front of Braveheart so we could see what sea conditions were like as we ran for cover from our overnight anchorage to a new anchorage on the other side of Great Island.

Watch the horizon to see how much we’re rolling!

The boat is still rolling a lot at anchor and it’s a wet gale outside, so we’re hunkered down inside riding out the storm.

We just watched the video of the boat in the storm and we are all feeling a little sea sick we hope that you are all feeling ok and the boat stops rocking soon.
